The politics of guilt, envy and greed are being used in an unprecedented fashion to attract many Americans, especially young people, to the socialistic "gospel", because they believe the establishment’s definition of socialism as, “the government doing stuff.” Not being taught to think critically, they don’t bother to ask, what kind of stuff? What does socialism look like when it exits the ethereal world of academia and enters the real world?

The kind of stuff socialist’s governments have been doing was historically and succinctly documented and recorded in a bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on February 2, 2023. Recorded as HOUSE BILL - CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 9 - denouncing the horrors of socialism.

It read: Whereas socialist ideology necessitates a concentration of power that has time and time again collapsed into Communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and brutal dictatorships;

Whereas socialism has repeatedly led to famine and mass murders, and the killing of over 100,000,000 people worldwide.

Whereas many of the greatest crimes in history were committed by socialist ideologues, including Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Fidel Castro, Pol Pot, Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong Un, Daniel Ortega, Hugo Chavez, and Nicolás Maduro;

Whereas tens of millions died in the Bolshevik Revolution, at least 10,000,000 people were sent to the gulags in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), and millions more starved in the Terror-Famine (Holodomor) in Ukraine;

Whereas between 15,000,000 and 55,000,000 people starved to death in the wake of famine and devastation caused by the Great Leap Forward in China;

Whereas the socialist experiment in Cambodia led to the killing fields in which over a million people were gruesomely murdered;

Whereas up to 3,500,000 people have starved in North Korea, dividing a land of freedom from a land of destitution;

Whereas the Castro regime in Cuba expropriated the land of Cuban farmers and the businesses of Cuban entrepreneurs, stealing their possessions and their livelihoods, and exiling millions with nothing but the clothes on their backs;

Whereas the implementation of socialism in Venezuela has turned a once-prosperous nation into a failed State with the world’s highest rate of inflation;

Whereas the author of the Declaration of Independence, President Thomas Jefferson, wrote, “To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, and the fruits acquired by it.”;

Whereas the “Father of the Constitution”, President James Madison, wrote that it “is not a just government, nor is property secure under it, where the property which a man has in his personal safety and personal liberty, is violated by arbitrary seizures of one class of citizens for the service of the rest”; and

Whereas the United States of America was founded on the belief in the sanctity of the individual, to which the collectivistic system of socialism in all of its forms is fundamentally and necessarily opposed: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That Congress denounces socialism in all its forms, and opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the United States of America. Passed the House of Representatives February 2, 2023.

This is “government doing stuff”!

In reality, socialism is governmental stealing with the authority of the law. And while it is generally portrayed as being a philosophy of "taking from the rich and giving to the poor," socialistic policies nearly always takes from the middle class and further widens the gap between rich and poor.

The promises of the socialistic agenda are always "free stuff," but the wary consumer should immediately recognize that nothing is free; everything comes with a cost.

The Democrat vice presidential nominee Tim Walz entered the national scene with a passive-aggressive endorsement of government-run economic activity. “One person’s socialism,” the Minnesota governor quipped, “is another person’s neighborliness.”

Commenting on Governor Waltz’s assertion, Katya Sedgwick, in an article in The Acton Institute writes, “Socialism is not just some version of “Minnesota nice,” and Walz, who’s been to China dozens of times must know that. He probably has an idea of what a socialist neighborhood looks like and how people live in it. So … he’s lying.

“Walz also showed himself capable of establishing the roots of a fear-based anarchy-tyranny regime in his state. During the COVID closures, the governor opened a snitch hotline to report violations of arbitrary health measures—an act that hardly promotes trust between people living next door to each other. He let Antifa and BLM burn Minneapolis, turning his state into a high crime, low-income wasteland that Minnesotans are now fleeing. Not what I would call “nice.”

Sedgwick continues with a stern warning: “And if my readers think that what happened in the USSR can’t happen here because we have our laws and traditions, consider that Walz is on record opposing free speech and that Kamala Harris permitted unlimited migration as a border czar, even as she spoke of the need to, simultaneously, reduce population. Meanwhile Walz signed on to the Biden-Harris progressive energy policy, designed to bring Americans into extreme high-density neighborhoods where something like Soviet dystopia can take root.

“Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.”

Socialism in any and every form is anti‑Christian. It is paganism. It makes the State and idol. It makes man the predestinator. It elevates the State above God. Socialism is urged by people who have lost faith in God and in the power of their religion to motivate men, and who have resorted to government and the coercive power of the State as a substitute. Socialism seizes, divides, expends, and dissipates wealth. It always produces poverty. Few will work hard if they know they are going to be robbed of the fruits of their labor. On the other hand, those who receive something for nothing learn to depend upon it. The appeal of socialism is the promise of something for nothing.

Here’s the bottom line - without a return to self-government under God’s government; without repentance toward God for our exchanging the truth of God for the idolatrous Lie of the enemy that “Big Government” is a better planner, provider and defender than Almighty God; without obedient faith to the original assignment of the “great cultural mandate” of Genesis 1:26-28, the “great commandment” of Matthew 22:37-27, and the “great commission mandate” of Matthew 28:19-20, we will find ourselves laboring under the lashes of modern day Pharaohs who will be the givers and takers of our daily bread.

The American Statesman and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Robert Winthrop (1809-1894), was absolutely correct when he asserted, “All societies of men must be governed in some way or other. The less they may have of stringent State Government, the more they must have of individual self-government. The less they rely on public law or physical force, the more they must rely on private moral restraint. Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled, either by a power within them, or by a power without them; either by the Word of God, or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible, or by the bayonet.
